Artist Bio
Born and raised in New York, Alicia Keys has been able to start proving that she has a great deal of musical talent when she was just seven years old. At an early age, her mother persuaded her to take piano lessons. This later on gave her an advantage when she went off to study in the Professional Performance Arts School of Manhattan. Alicia was not only able to excel musically, but also academically. Her grades were so exceptional that she graduated as a valedictorian at the age of 16. Her career in the music industry started when she signed up with Arista Records back in 1998. Today, she has released 5 albums, each one selling millions of copies worldwide. She has also been able to bag 12 Grammys on top of many other awards. Alicia Keys has truly become one of the youngest most successful artists in the industry.
