B.o.B., born Bobby Ray Simmons, is a rapper, singer, and record producer who first gained worldwide attention for his single Haterz Everywhere, which hit the number five spot on the Billboards Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles. He is influenced by rap, rock, techno, funk, and doo-wop and is a member of the production and rap group HamSquad. In 2009, he appeared on an XXL magazine cover as part of Hip Hops Class of 09.
Following his first successful release, B.o.Bs came out with the 2008 single Ill Be in the Sky, which About.com listed it on their Top 100 Rap Songs of 2008. By 2010, MTV named him the ninth Hottest MC in the Game. He released his debut album The Adventures of Bobby Ray in 2010 and reached the number one spot on the Billboard 200. The single Nothin on You became number one in the U.S. and UK and the following singles Dont Let Me Fall, Airplanes, and Bet I helped bring positive reviews for the album.
His second single Airplanes became a number one hit in the U.K. and a number two hit in the U.S. Magic, his third single, became his third top ten single on Billboards Hot 100. He landed an Adidas commercial, received nominations at Teen Choice Awards, and performed on the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards alongside artists like Kanye West, Eminem, and Usher. Recently, Electronic Arts released B.o.Bs song New York New York for the shooter game Crysis 2.
