Daft Punk, a duo from Paris, was able to achieve some level of recognition with their interesting musical mix of first-wave acid house, techno, pop, hip-hop and indie rock. The duo consisted of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Their debut single was released in 1993, titled "The New Wave," which was recorded under the Soma label.
