Iyaz, or Keidran Jones, is a singer from the British Virgin Islands who combines R&B, soul, reggae fusion, and hip hop. At the New England Institute of Technology, he studied digital recording and posted his material on MySpace. He developed a cult following and in 2008 was discovered by Sean Kingston, a singer who uses the same music styles. Kingston was in the middle of creating his own Time is Money label and made Iyaz one of the first artists to be signed. The next year, Iyazs first single Replay reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. The song contained elements of classical and electronica along with island pop. Iyaz released his second single Solo, which has reached number 32 on the Hot 100. He also took part in the song We Are The World 25 for Haiti. He is featured on the single Pyramid for Charice_Pempengco and in the anticipated film 21 Coconuts. He has appeared on Hannah Montana Forever and performed in the song Gonna Get This with Miley Cyrus. J.R. Rotem, who was introduced to Iyaz by Sean Kingston, noted Iyazs artistic perfectionism, saying that Iyaz took days to work on one day and usually came out with a genuine touch.
