Justin Bieber is a Canadian teen pop sensation who became one of 2009s biggest successes after the release of his debut album My World. He is an Ontario native who won second place in a 2007 local talent contest and used Youtube to display his talents for the rest of the world. Scooter Braun, a talent agent, was impressed by Biebers skills and helped land him an audition with Usher. Usher was also impressed by Bieber and with the help of L.A. Reid, Island/Def Jam chairman, he signed the 15-year-old to a recording contract. Biebers debut single One Time was released in 2009 with a music video featuring Usher. The single and debut album received platinum status in Canada and the U.S. He was the first artist to have seven songs on a debut album appear on the Billboard Hot 100. The album sold more than a million copies and peaked at number six on Billboards 200. Bieber released the follow-up My World 2.0, which had a more mature, R&B sound and debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. He released My Worlds Acoustic in 2010 and his documentary Never Say Never was released in February of that year. Never Say Never: The Remixes followed shortly after the films release and featured performances by Usher, Kanye West, and Miley Cyrus.
