Lady Antebellum formed as a Nashville band in 2006 with lead vocalist Charles Kelley, lead vocalist Hillary Scott, and instrumentalist/background vocalist Dave Haywood. The trios strong harmonies and instrumental sounds defined their contemporary country music style. In 2007, the group contributed their vocals to Jim Brickmans song Never Alone before they signed to Capitol Nashville. They released their first single Love Dont Live Here, which became a number three hit on the Hot Country Songs charts. The 2008 self-titled album, featuring producers Paul Worley and Victoria Shaw, unleashed more hits and the song Run to You became a crossover Top 40 pop hit.
Lady Antebellums debut album went platinum, the band earned a Grammy nomination, and the members began enjoying the highlights of their new success. The second album Need You Now came out in 2010 with Need You Now, their strongest single to date. The song reached the top of country charts and became number two on Billboards Hot 100. In the middle of recording their third album, the band collected five Grammy awards, including Record of the Year for Need You Now. The band has also received awards such as ACMs Top New Duo or Group in 2009 and CMAs New Artist of the Year in 2008.
