Artist Bio
Lynyrd Skynyrd is a rock band that started to gain some popularity in the southern region of the US in 1973. Their popularity spread throughout the world before Ronnie Van Sant, the group's vocalist and songwriter died in a plane crash in 1977. In 1987, the band got together and recruited Johnny Van Zant, Ronnie's brother to be the frontman and did a reunion tour. They continue to record music up to this day. They have also been inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March 2006.
