Artist Bio
A three-piece rock band from England, The Police consisted of Sting on lead vocals, bass an guitar, Andy Summers on guitar and vocals and Stewart Copeland on drums, vocals and percussion. They achieved a global popularity during the late 1970s, as they played a style of rock which was greatly influenced by punk, jazz and reggae music. Synchronicity, their 1983 album, was a hit in the UK and the US grabbing the top spot in hit charts and sold more than 8 million copies in the US alone. They were number 70 on Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
