Slayer is a thrash metal band that hails from Huntington Park, California. They were formed back in 1981 by guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman. Slayer began popular as one of the founders of the thrash metal movement in America with Reign in Blood, their 1986 release. The album was referred to as "the heaviest album of all time". Their band is considered to be one Big Four in thrash metal bands.
