The Band Perry is a country music band composed of vocalist Kimberly Perry, bassist Reid Perry, and percussionist Neil Perry. Their music merges country, pop, and rock into a contemporary style. With origins in east Tennessee and Mississippi, the Perry siblings began their music careers singing in Alabama. As a teenager, Kim sang in a band while Reid and Neil worked as roadies. The brothers opened for Kim as the Mobile Music Machines. After The Band Perry formed, the three embarked on the New Faces of Country tour in 2005.
Bob Doyle, Garth Brooks manager, found the group in 2008 and helped make their songs. They signed to Republic Nashville in 2009 and released their single Hip to the Heart, which became number 20 on the country chart with an extended play following in April. Kim wrote their next single If I Die Young, produced by Nathan Chapman and Paul Worley. The hit If I Die Young went platinum and topped the Hot Country Songs chart as number one in addition to number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100. The third single You Lie went to the number 51 slot on the chart. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2010.
