Being a solid country star during the 1990s, Toby Keith had a considerable chart success but was not able to immediately break free from the neo-traditionalist pack so that he can become a household name like Alan Jackson or Garth Brooks. In 2002, this changed when he recorded a single which was a response to the September 11 terrorist attack. That single became on the most highly charged political statements of the country. He was able to eventually achieve more success as he released more singles and albums.
