Patrick Monahan, vocalist/guitarist Jimmy Stafford, and percussionist Scott
Underwood, that achieved their greatest fame in the early 2000s. The good-
natured, mellow sounds of songs like Drops of Jupiter and Calling All Angels
could be heard extensively on adult contemporary and pop rock radios.
Train released their self-titled debut album in 1998 with the single Meet Virginia
and achieved greater popularity with their second album Drops of Jupiter in 2001.
The single Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me) became a worldwide hit and earned the band
two Grammys the following year, including the Grammy for Best Rock Song. The
album debuted at number six in the U.S. and became double platinum in the U.S.
and Canada.
Train released their third album My Private Nation in 2003, which went platinum
in the U.S. The hit single Calling All Angels went to number 19 on the Billboard
Hot 100 and lasted for three weeks on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart.
The band released their fourth album For Me, Its You in 2006, then released Save
Me San Francisco in 2009. Their returned to the charts with the multi-platinum,
Top Ten single Hey Soul Sister and the singles If Its Love and Marry Me also
appeared on the Billboard Hot 100.
