Who Is Slipknot
In the beginning they were known as The Pale Ones, and later Meld. Today we know them as Slipknot – the famous band from Des Moines, Iowa. Over the years there have been many changes in the lineup, finally settling on 8 people. After the death of Paul Gray, Shawn Crahan is now the only founding member still in the band. Another member, Corey Taylor, is also working on a full album with his other band Stone Sour. With a tour lined up for June of 2012 in the U.S., a lot of Slipknot fans (hardcore fans are typically referred to as ‘maggots’) are excited to see them back in the US – They have been in Eurpoe for a year.
Slipknot Live
One of the reasons Slipknot was so successful early on was because they often performed extreme stunts – like 30 foot stage dives or setting themselves on fire . To this day they use elevated stage areas and very high powered pyrotechnics along with other neat tricks. Most fans love the high energy and chaos you get at just about every Slipknot show.
My Favorite Slipknot Tracks
With 5 albums, if you include the demo Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat., there are so many favorite tracks I could name. I tried to condense my favorites into a top 5 list, but when I realized that was too hard I did 10 instead. As a teenager I used to listen to these hard rock songs all the time – but now I only listen occasionally. I tried to include all the albums on the list, but I never really got into the demo track to give it a good listen.
1 Wait and Bleed
2 Spit It Out
3 Duality
4 Vermillion
5 Before I forget
6 Disasterpiece
7 The Nameless
8 Psychosocial
9 People=Shit
10 Pulse of the Maggots
Album Number Five
There are many rumors of a new album in the making, but without the support of Corey Taylor it is going to be very difficult for the band. Slipknot has proven to have a good ability to adapt to new and changing members constantly so maybe it won’t be a problem. One of the member stated that about 17 songs were already written for the album, but Corey conflicted that statement saying that no songs were written as of now. The band seems to want to go ahead without Corey, since he might not want to be a part of the new album anyways.
Slipknot owns man. LOVE Wait and Bleed - nice choice for #1
