I'm not sure if it's AT&T or if it's my phone (a Samsung Solstice), but the emails I'm getting don't have any songs attached to them. On my 4-year-old $20 Verizon prepaid phone, the entire process worked perfectly. On this expensive, bells-and-whistles one, it won't. All I get is a text message with my email as a link, and the subject of the email (if there was one) in parenthesis. No music, nothing else on the screen.
And please don't suggest that I read the help sticky. This isn't my first time on a forum; I've checked there already. I sent emails using both addresses for AT&T, and I get the same result.
I figured it out, so I'll post it for anyone else who might have the same phone and need an answer.
Although you can't hear the tone or see the picture in the text message when you email it to yourself, it's there anyway. Press "stop" at the bottom of the screen, then "More" on the bottom left. Touch "save attachment" and you'll get a checklist with every ringtone/pic/etc. that you emailed. Just select all of them and hit "save".
Did you send just one picture? I think it might only "play" if you send a tone or a series of pictures (it plays it as a slide show), so it wouldn't "stop" either. If there's no "Save attachments" option when you touch "More", then I dunno...never had that happen before.
