Here is a quick guide on how to send a ring tone to your cellphone.
1. Create a free account at Brinked.com
2. Click one of the download links on the ringtone page you want.
3. Create a new email with the ringtone as an attachment and send the email as a text message.
Here are the email address needed for different providers. Replace 1234567890 with your cellphone number, no spaces, area code first.
I'm having problems sending a ringtone to my phone, everytime I click on the "send to phone" button a pop up appears. What can I do to send a ring tone to my phone?
I'm having the same issue. I created a ringtone on Brinked. When I press "send ringtone to phone" a pop up for dada.com appears. I log in there thinking that will work and can't find the ringtone I created. This is more trouble than its worth. Someone help.
Download the ringtone you want to your computer (download the mp3 format), save it in your "My Music" folder on your computer. Then go to your email account, I use Hotmail, Windows Live mail is the same. Select New Message, In the subject line type the name of the ringtone. Next click on attach, and select file, then browse to your My Music folder and select the ringtone you downloaded. Wait for it to upload, it will tell you the size of the file once it is finished. Now in the "To" field of the email message use your phone's email address (see previous post for email addresses), then click send. Once the message comes to your phone, you should have an options in your phone's menu, select Save as Ringtone... Note for fellow Verizon customers, if you want to delete the message, save the ringtone as a sound also. Because, you can't send ringtones from your phone in a picture message, you can only add tones to the message, so save the ringtone as a sound. Also my friend has the Droid Eris and it won't let him save the ringtones from messages, I think that is Verizon's doing. On a sidenote, you can also send wallpapers to your phone the same way as I explained for the ringtones. The best resolution that seems to work on most phones is 1024X768...Hope this helps peeps!! Peace, L8R!!
People having trouble downloading from Brinked, when you find the ringtone you want, notice underneath it, there is the word "download" it has 3 different file formats you can click on, select "mp3", that is usually the best thing to do. Also you must name the file manually when you go to download, otherwise it will save as a file with a bunch of numbers for the name. And for the email addresses for different carriers, just see the top message it has them there, DON'T CALL YOUR CELL PHONE COMPANY!! Cause they will not tell you what it is, cause they don't want you sending yourself ringtones without paying them for it......
I can't receive the e-mail to my phone with verizon for some reason...can't figure out how to actually get these downloads onto my phone to use them as ringtones...HELP!!
