all i did was save the ringtone tht i wanted as mp3, then i went to phonezoo.com and created it as a ringtone and sent it to my fone. its completely free and the website automaticaly saves everything u send 2 ur fone so its always ther if u get a new fone or accidentally delete it.
I agree it's misleading in that there's a big bold "send to phone" button to click on after you make your ringtone. But underneath that in tiny pale letters is the word "advertisement" and that's why when you click on it you go to another site which charges a fee if you enroll in their service. You don't have to pay a fee though to use the Brinked ringtone site. So here's what I did and it worked for me so perhaps might work for others:
My phone is able to play music so I can transfer mp3 files from my computer into the phone. I wasn't able to transfer the audio through email as some other's were successful doing though. What I did was the following:
--After I created the ringtone, to the right of that stupid bold "send to phone button, are three little options that say Mp3, WAV and M4R.
--Click on the Mp3 and SAVE it to the Music folder in your Computer.
--Plug in a cable to connect your phone to your computer
--Go into your Computer files
--drag/drop the mp3 ringtone you saved into the external drive Audioi file that your phone created when you plugged it into your pc. (again, make sure you put the mp3 file into the audio folder). Then click the button or whatever it says to save it there.
--Go into your phone and find where it stores the songs, choose the song and there should be an option to set it as the ringtone.
At least that's what worked for me and as you can see I'm not a technical person at all. LoL! : )
thank u so much this website is a hoax if u ask me i keep trying to download the ringtone this page keeps popping up that dont have nothing to do with what ur doing.
again thank you i will try it your way and see what happens
In my post above I gave the step by step of how I got the ringtone into my phone. But I think there may still be some confusion as to how to save it to the computer.
I have no idea if my trying to insert a graphic will work so my apologies if it's just a mess....
NOTE: IF YOU CLICK ON THE THUMBNAIL PIX AT BOTTOM OF POST YOU WILL SEE IMAGE of what I'm talking about.
After you create your Ringtone it should look like this screen shot below (I'm also putting it as an attachment so you'll hopefully be able to see it that way too if not below):
As you can (hopefully) see... after you create/name your ringtone the next screen has:
The Name you gave your Ringtone
The Play button
Rating Download Mp3/WAV/M4R
IGNOR THE RED BUTTON ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT THAT SAYS "Send to Phone" DO NOT CLICK ON IT!!
INSTEAD ...
CLICK ON the Mp3 next to Download as listed/shown above
A File Download window will pop up asking "Do You Want To Open or Save this File?"
Click to SAVE
Then save it on your Computer in your Music Folder-- rename it so it's not just numbers and then save
Plug in cable from your computer to phone and drag/drop the ringtone you saved into the AUDIO FILES ON YOUR PHONE.
THen go into your phone to wherever the songs are and there should be an option to set the song as the ringtone. Of course if your phone can't be used as an Mp3 player then this won't work at all.
Hope this helps! I've just put another ringtone into my phone and both songs works great. I used the same method. (As I mentioned earlier, emailing and then texting the email to myself didn't work so I had to use the cable to connect phone to computer to transfer the songs)
