In 2004, when crunk or Southern-flavored party rap took over urban radio, Pitbull, a rapper from Miami felt that it was the time to seek stardom. He said the crunk was nothing but just bass music slowed down. He felt that he could do a lot in this genre as he basically grew up on Miami bass music. Eventually, he was able to make a name of his own by collaborating with several artists.
