In 1988, Sublime was formed in Long Beach, California as a garage punk band. They started to gain popularity during the mid-1990s as they started combining punk rage music with reggae as well as ska. During the band's first seven years, they only released two albums. They were able to finally have a hit album with the third one. Unfortunately, that was the band's last as Brad Nowell, the lead vocalist, passed away in May of 1996.
