The Dream is the stage name of Terius Youngdell Nash. He is a Grammy Award-winning singer, producer and songwriter. After graduating from high school, he joined Guess Who, a singing group. Over the next years, he started writing songs for many new rappers as well as writing hooks for his friends. In December of 2007, The Dream got a Grammy nomination for Umbrella for Song of the Year but lost to Rehab, a song by Amy Winehouse. On June 24 of the following year however, he won the award Best New Artist during the 2008 BET Awards. He later appeared in numerous records of other artists and won a Grammy for Best contemporary R&B Album in 2009 after working on the Growing Pains album of Mary J. Blige.
